Your student employment position at VCU is an undeniable step toward a fulfilling career — and we're here to provide you with plenty of resources and support throughout the journey!

Please note: While there are many types of working learners, the information on this page applies specifically to student employment through VCU.

HR required training & resources

As an employee of VCU, you must complete your required training. How? Go to Canvas, select All Courses, then select Browse More Courses. Search by title and complete all of the required training below:
- Required, within 45 days of hire:
  - Cyber Security Onboarding for New Hires
  - Safety Awareness Training
  - Virginia State Employee Safety and Disaster Awareness
  - Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Cultural Competency
  - Building Supportive Communities: Clery Act and Title IX Training EAS Non-Discrimination Training
- Strongly suggested, within 90 days of hire:
  - Get There Safely: Pedestrian Safety on the VCU Campus
